Meet Angelika Menendez
Angelika Menendez is a Latine artist who loves to sing, act and dance. She was born and raised in Miami, FL and grew up in a bilingual household where she learned to speak English and Spanish. At the age of 7, Angelika participated in her first musical, Seussical and told her parents performing was her future. Little did they know, that eleven years later she would be going to college to pursue a career in the performing arts professionally.
She graduated with her BFA in Theatre and Performance from Emerson College. After graduation, Angelika began working at different regional theatres and in 2023 made the jump to NYC with her partner! Angelika most recently performed alongside Scott Bakula in Man of La Mancha at Peterborough Players. Angelika was also a part of the American Theatre Wing's SpringboardNYC musical theatre class and got to train with some of the top people in the industry. Angelika loves to work on bilingual theatre and even got the opportunity to perform in Madrid, Spain where she took part in a Spanish adaptation of Finding Neverland. Angelika is a part of the Equity Membership Candidate.
When she's not performing Angelika is passionate about her work in diversity & inclusion and community engagement. She started Cabaret of Color at Emerson College to create an opportunity for BIPOC artists to be heard and share their voices. The show is yearly and partners with the Performing Arts Fund to raise money for low-income students to attend Emerson for the performing arts. She was also the first ever managing director for Teatro Chelsea, a new theatre in Boston, MA that is giving space for new Latinx works and voices.
Angelika looks forward to continuing her work in equity and theatre in NYC and is so excited to collaborate with the community she creates. Her dream is to a originate a role in a BIPOC led show on Broadway.
